Push To Talk runs group voice over Iridium: press, talk, release — and everyone in the talkgroup hears you at once, across sites, countries or continents. Two device options cover handset-style and radio-style working, both ruggedised for the field.

Iridium is the only network with complete global coverage — including both polar regions — because its 66 satellites talk to each other rather than to regional ground stations.
Service is disabled in North Korea (US trade embargo). Some countries restrict possession or use of satellite equipment — check with the destination's embassy before you travel.

Push To Talk plans and pricing
Two required charges plus an optional one. The panel below shows how it fits together; the tables give the figures.
How Push To Talk pricing works
Three charges make up the service — the first two are required, the third is optional.
Every handset on the service pays one monthly PTT access charge — the same single fee however many talk groups it joins.
Each talk group runs on a zone plan, sized by the area it covers. One zone fee covers every handset in the group, with unlimited PTT minutes. One handset can belong to multiple zones — up to 15 talk groups per device.
Add a standard call plan to a handset for normal phone calls. Iridium Extreme PTT only — the Icom IC-SAT100 is a PTT-only radio.
Two plan families cover the world: the Standard plan applies everywhere excluding the Middle East, with 3-month or 12-month handset terms. The Middle East plan covers the listed region at its own zone pricing, on a 3-month handset term. Zone sizes are the same in both.
Minimum service is one talk group of two handsets · a handset can hold up to 15 talk groups · a group’s coverage can be split across regions (fewer for small zones) · adding talk groups to a handset is free · all pricing in US Dollars, excluding VAT.
