Iridium Certus
Iridium Certus is Iridium's broadband service over the upgraded Iridium NEXT constellation. Sub-second latency by satellite standards, real data rates, and the same true-global coverage.
What Certus is
Certus runs on Iridium NEXT — the 66-satellite next-generation LEO constellation now in operation. Unlike traditional Iridium voice and SBD, Certus uses larger antennas and a faster modem to deliver mid-band broadband. Coverage is genuinely global, including polar regions.
Service classes
- Certus 100 — entry voice and tracking, low-rate data for IoT and command-and-control
- Certus 200 — small vessel and remote worker broadband, voice + low MB rates
- Certus 350 — mid-band data, voice and SMS — popular on tubular aviation, mid-size yachts
- Certus 700 — top-tier broadband, suited to commercial maritime, business aviation and field broadcast
Where Certus excels
- High latitudes / polar — the only mid-band broadband option that works there
- Commercial maritime — including GMDSS compliance options
- Aviation — Certus-certified terminals fitted on a wide range of aircraft
- Government and emergency — sovereign, resilient, well-understood architecture
Hardware partners
Certus terminals are made by Cobham, Thales, Lars Thrane, Intellian and others. We are an accredited reseller and can quote on any of them — including installation referrals where applicable.
